Wreaths
The foulard is inspired by gold wreaths from olive, myrtle, laurel or ivy leaves that have mainly been found in royal tombs of Macedonia and constitute excellent
examples of the goldsmith’s art in Hellenistic times.
I picked up the elements that interested me most in order to create new designs. They were printed on fabric and with the pleating technique new shapes were formed.
These wreaths are part from the collection of the Benaki Museum in Athens. 3rd – 2nd century B.C.
